Dear Friends,

Hebrews 12:1-3

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Interestingly, the Jewish community that is about to ‘take-off’ on its spiritual journey is being reminded that they are surrounded by witnesses and not spectators. They are witnesses who have seen God’s unchanging faithfulness in their own lives and are now present to encourage the readers who are struggling on their journey.

It is possible that we think we are alone in our journey of faith. We need to readjust our focus. Chapter 11 of Hebrews reminds the reader, of the numerous patriarchs who have gone ahead showing their complete dependence on God. As the race turns out to be arduous and filled with obstacles that are in the form of ensnaring sins, let us in repentance, continue to run with perseverance having our eyes fixed on Jesus, who took on the cross and the shame, to be rewarded with the fruit of righteousness.

Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith grant you peace and joy this Christmas.

Have a blessed Christmas and a Christ-centered New Year!

Our current semester began in the month of June. Students after spending time doing ministry in their home churches, returned to continue with their courses. Presently we have 14 students. For various reasons, publicity being one of them, enrollment is low this year.

With an intention to help local students with the English language we have started a coaching/English tutoring class. It is presently being attended by 10 students. These are geared to being used as a means to share the gospel; pray that happens regularly.

Semester exams are coming up. After the first year and a half, our students are showing signs of able leadership which we are pleased to see and praise God for. In the month of December, our students will be visiting our mission posts for their practicals. Please pray that the Lord will provide for their travel and food during the trip.

Ministry among children continues to grow. In Jamshedpur we have many young children who have just joined the program. Most of them are from very poor backgrounds and their parents don’t stay at home through-out the day. Do pray for us as we bring them up in the love of Christ.

In Baniakunder, our children are doing well. All of them are healthy and safe from seasonal sickness. Our newly admitted children in this centre are also studying hard. It is a delight to see them learn new songs and Bible stories.

In Don, we thank our Lord that although due to incessant rains during the past months with rain water running above danger levels, our centre which is next to the river, was not destroyed. Our children are growing physically and spiritually. However, due to lack of manpower, we are unable to have VBS and youth meetings regularly. Do pray that we will be able to meet this need.

Last Christmas we were able to give our children Christmas gifts. It was a blessing to all who received them. We were able to provide them with various necessities. Would you come forward to share your blessings with these children again? For more details, click here.

The Lord has once again blessed us with a very fruitful VBS ministry. This year we had VBS in Ranchi, Jamagarah, Baniakunder and Jamshedpur. We will be having VBS in Gaya and Purnea in a week’s time.

We were able to reach out to 320 children so far in three languages i.e Hindi, Santhali and Bengali. Our children enjoyed listening to Bible stories, singing choruses and watching animated films on the life of Bible Heroes. We thank God for our local brethren who came forward to teach and lead our children. A few children have come forward in wanting to know more about salvation. Please pray for them, that the Lord will bring them to repentance.

  • For student sending bodies that they may be able to sort out dedicated students for future training and ministry.
  • For ministry among children: Lord willing, with the help of new partners, we will be ministering among many children from animistic backgrounds.
  • For resources, to strengthen the workforce and raise the academic standard of the College.

  • Student Practical Programme : Students will be doing outreach ministry in the month of December-January.
  • Youth Conference :10th – 13th January, 2013 – the youth of Grace Baptist Churches will gather for a three day conference.
